I don't know if Jeff has the time or feels like doing it. He doesn't get too much out of it. We could make a facebook group I suppose, we are going to try to redo the site to make it more community friendly in general. I'll look into the facebook group and post an update here.

UPDATE: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=107276606002111 join it!

I can just e-mail jeff if something comes up. I just don't think there's much he can do at this point.

Honestly, I only use this site because there's no other site that's as good for Say Anything tabs as this one. But I am glad it's not closing, if it helps, I could become active. The facebook idea is a good one, it would spread a lot better. Especially since people on here probably have other friends who like SA.

Glad to hear that, GoodleShoes.

So you're one of the bastards that's making this so hard on us! We get plenty of hits on the website but guys like you just lurk and never try to be part of the community! (But we still love you guys.)
Why is that, exactly? What's kept you from being "active" the past 9 or so months? Granted, there hasn't been too much to be tabbed out. I ask because your feedback on this issue is exactly what we need to know at this point. Have you just been busy? Not had much to talk about? Felt like chatting with the bros was just not what you needed to do? Maybe there's an untabbed song that you play but don't really feel like sharing tabs for it? if so, why? For fear of criticism? No drive to tab it out?

Whatever the community's barriers are, that's what we want to deal with in the next few months.

I like that idea I really need to just talk to n0rgan about it and solid up the plans for how it will be organized etc..

Yeah sorry. I've been WAY too busy the past few days. It doesn't help that I work 12 hours each day on weekends. And I have an interview tomorrow... It seems I might be doing the webdesign and programming for another website AND BE GETTING PAID FOR IT?!

Really, though, the past few days have been full of brainstorming. Once I can start working on the new site in the next week or so things should actually get done rather quickly since I'll probably be using a content management system. (I don't feel like programming an entire website engine, and I'm pretty sure phpnuke will work perfectly for what PlaySA needs at its core.) The most difficult part won't actually be the programming. It will be deciding on how all of the content will be displayed and navigated. We'll see what goes on with that.

First and foremost, the point of the new website will be to get the tabs out of the forums (things sometimes get messy with the more active tab threads) and to provide other areas for the PlaySA community to grow. An area dedicated to the discussion of song lyrics (discussion of symbolism/metaphors, sharing personal meanings/interpretations, starting strange conspiracies about Max's brain, etc...) will DEFINITELY be added and featured. With the tabs out of the forums, the forums for general chatter will be much more organized and meaningful.

By the way... we can open up a song meaning subforum right now. Scott'll have to do that later this week.

I will do it later today. I was thinking about special organization but it can just be a big lump and we use the search feature for now.

n0rgan we're going to need to check out how to migrate all the users and posts over as well.. doing that by hand seems terrible.

Good thing I'm handy with database backup and migration, then! I should be able to automate it. I think we might be able to not even touch the databse, maybe just integrate this forum system into the new site. We'll see.
