Songwriting

Seeing as this is playsa, I know there are musicians here. Definitely some songwriters. Maybe some aspiring songwriters. Songs are sold by the plenty and I imagine they're put together really quickly in the songshop. I remember max tweeting about possibly giving advice for this kind of thing, so my question is, to any members of SA... what tips would you give for writing music/lyrics?
