Eloise

Postby crbrazil » Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:21 am

Laid out, puking in the back of a fancy bar.
You and your friends in the front booth,
laughing at my sweet naivety; and its awkward gravity.
Three years, saw the decimation of the world in you.
Messiah complex led a fickle flu, to see its antidote and end in you...
and now I’m gonna leave you.

Eloise, Eloise,
you never meant that much to me
Baby please let go, my Eloise
Let it breed, let it freeze and fall apart in front of me.
My Eloise, you talk the world from me.

So beautiful, the ugliness within you.
Last of three, baby of the family;
spoiled to bits, and rotten to the shining core of you.
And mad with power I’ve seen corrupt, the leaders of this nation
Stricken with, the sickly imitation of a love, the Lord would never stitch
You’ve got my cake, it’s time to dine on the rich

Eloise, Eloise,
you never meant that much to me
Baby please let go, my Eloise
Let it breed, let it freeze and fall apart in front of me.
My Eloise, you took the world from me.

[Spoke]
Band-Aid, just a bloody Band-Aid. That’s all I ever really was to you Eloise.
A soldier with a syndrome, the dreams of childrens’ screams.
You molded, you shaped, like a god who loathed to create.
Two Band-Aids, two infected Band-Aids, that’s all we really were to each other Eloise.
A couple of stupid kids, throwing a ball back and forth, to see who drops it first!

Eloise, Eloise, you never meant that much to me.
Baby please let go, my Eloise
Let it breed, let it freeze and fall apart in front of me.
My Eloise, you talk the world from me.
You took the world from me
You took the world from me
You took the world from me
You took the world from me.

No comments on this song? Come on!

I'm pretty sure everyone here can feel a connection with this song. In my mind this is the most brilliantly written song on the album....possibly the best one ever. Max is a lyrical god.

yeah it's a pretty intense song, I don't think I can take a stab at it at the moment I'm gonna have to think on it a bit.

Sounds like a failed relationship song though. ha
Self-inflicted or not, I find myself on the farthest star, foreign to everything like I woke up with a German tongue.

he said this song is about...

how you can build up an illusion in your mind about who you are based on how someone else thinks of you...whether that's someone you're in a relationship with or someone whose just sort of hurt you emotionally and it's sort of...you start telling yourself the things that they told you and you trick yourself into thinking that's reality and that song is about a moment in my life where i kinda transcended that and let go of all that conditioning or at least opened my mind up to letting go of that conditioning because you can't grow up...you can't really start to live life until you define yourself for yourself

almost word for word

I always wonder if there is some connection with Eloise at the Plaza.

In my mind it's about some snazzy girl he dated (slept with) pre-sherri who couldn't/wouldn't let him grow up, or go once he decided to get better. It's the realization that the people that you loved and loved you at a certain time of your life, can't travel with you to the next portion of your life. The realization that while they may have meant something, they never meant as much as you felt they did at the time. And as you get older and grow and meet people the people who once meant a lot to you don't anymore and you don't mean much to them either but you hang on to each other in a fear of growing up?

Maybe? Thought?

I love this song so much. It made me near-cry the first time I heard it.
I have a strange infirmity, which is nothing to those that know me.
