Slumming it With Johnny

Me and John rode out from Ocean heading East
I had to see with my own eyes the factories
I'm buggin out
We've never strayed this far
Right out of town Southeast and down
Inside my filthy car
But when we got there all we saw were more malls and marble mansions
In emerald parks the singing larks proclaimed the great expansion
There is no beautiful garbage
They cleared it up already
Tears roll out the eyes and though I cry I hold the wheel steady
Steady!
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
When I get home
I cannot stand my house
My father still fighting with his drunk and unfaithful spouse
I hear the echo now I see it somewhere else
A thousand ways, a thousand days, a thousand towns across the commonwealth
Out on a date but like a dog she smells the fear and runs
Until we make our cheese tortured artists are no fun
I dream of anger, sex, unnurtured I succeed but still
Soon I'll be poppin pills
This emptiness will not be filled or caved
Do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do
Look at the earth
It's just so green
Perhaps it's envious of all the galaxies it's seen
Where forces swirl in symbiotic harmony
Free of the taint, the gas, and paint of parasites like me
Keep using love as the excuse for why we're fat and lazy
Wait to grow old, like we've been told
Go bald, go west and crazy
This is so pointless it actually holds up on evolution
Sing it to the bastards
FREE YOURSELF FROM MENTAL PROSTITUTION
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Oh Oh I didn't know I didn't know
Oh Oh I didn't know I didn't know

Obviously the one that's written using the Billy Mays font? =P
(One of my favorites, also. Just LOVE screaming that line in the car to the song.)

Honestly, the third verse to this song gives me chills.
Look at the earth
It's just so green
Perhaps it's envious of all the galaxies it's seen
Where forces swirl in symbiotic harmony
Free of the taint, the gas, and paint of parasites like me
Keep using love as the excuse for why we're fat and lazy
Wait to grow old, like we've been told
Go bald, go west and crazy
This is so pointless it actually holds up on evolution
Sing it to the bastards
FREE YOURSELF FROM MENTAL PROSTITUTION

Possibly becoming free from the influence of people that flaunt their ideology and opinions around. Especially when they do it in a overbearing or abrasive manner. Like a prostitute will flaunt his/her body around to attempt to catch people's interest, the people that Max is talking about do the same in hopes that they will have some influence over people's actions.. Hoping that people will buy into their ideas/opinions in the same way that someone might buy a prostitute's services.

i think it's more like don't let who you are have a price. for example, i think about how we socialize the young and everyone is plugged into a certain way of thinking. i don't wanna get too specific because the line isn't. People will do and think what you tell them to for a price. he's saying being yourself and staying true to yourself is more important. does that make sense or do i sound like one of the idiots? (you know who i'm talking about)
