I figured there wasn't really a tab for this so I just now started tabbing it. I'm doing the Secret Origins version because I prefer to play acoustic. The song is in Dropped D.

Code: Select all

Verse
e|--------------------------------5---5----3-3-3--2--|
B|--------------------------------5---5----5-5-5--3--|
G|--6-7-6-2------------------------------------------|
D|--0-0-x-0------------------------------------------|
A|--x-x-4-0------------------------------------------|
D|--5-5-0-0------------------------------------------|

Note: Strum the chords accordingly. First time through is the 4 chords, second time through is the first 2 chords and then the little notes on the high E- and B- strings. It almost sounds like he might strum open low E-string gently with the pick and use his fingers to get the high E- and B-strings but don't quote me on that. Reason I mention it is because you can hear it a little bit during that part.

Chorus
e|----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--11----6-6----7-7----9--9----7-7----11-11----9--9-9-9-9-9-9-9--|
D|--x-----x-x----x-x----x--x----x-x----x--x-----x--x-x-x-x-x-x-x--|
A|--9-----4-4----5-5----7--7----5-5----9--9-----7--7-7-7-7-7-7-7--|
D|--9-----4-4----5-5----7--7----5-5----9--9-----7--7-7-7-7-7-7-7--|

e|----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--11----6-6----7-7----9--9----7-7----2-2------9--9-9-9-9-9-9-9--|
D|--x-----x-x----x-x----x--x----x-x----0-0------x--x-x-x-x-x-x-x--|
A|--9-----4-4----5-5----7--7----5-5----0-0------7--7-7-7-7-7-7-7--|
D|--9-----4-4----5-5----7--7----5-5----0-0------7--7-7-7-7-7-7-7--|

Note: I know it feels awkward but listening to it, he definitely isn't muting the A-string and if you play the barred notes on the D-string, it's too heavy a sound.

Breakdown
e|--0----0----0-----------------0--------------------------|
B|--10---10---10----------------0--------------------------|
G|--11---9----12----------------7--------------------------|
D|--0----0----0-----------------0--------------------------|
A|--0----0----0-----------------0--------------------------|
D|--0----0----0-----------------0--------------------------|

Note: This part is multi-guitar but this part makes the most sense to play solo. Listen to the song for how to play it. A brief description...look at the notes on the G-string: he strikes 11 once then strums the 9. After the third time he strikes 11, he slides it up to 12 and strums twice, slides it back down to 11 and strums twice, and then pulls off to 9. Strum the 7 four times with palm kills, then strum it some more before you transition back into the chorus.

End on
e|-----------|
B|-----------|
G|--11--11-|
D|--x---x--|
A|--9---9--|
D|--9---9--|

I think that's pretty much the whole song but I'll play through it to make sure. Also, after tabbing the chorus it's become apparent to me that he might actually play some of the chords in the verse in the same way. I'm not really sure but I like it the way I have it tabbed here better. :D

I don't think the tuning is drop d for this song. The chorus you posted sounds perfect but I think he plays it the same way he plays most chorus, with index on 7, middle on 9, and pinky on the 11 except on the G string instead of the D. If you play it like that it will feel more natural. I'm gonna work on perfecting the beginning.
